Romantic Couples Getaway to Jamaica

Happy 37th birthday trip to tropical Jamaica! A romantic couples getaway was the perfect birthday gift. We stayed at the beautiful Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
After a short taxi ride (15min) we arrived at our resort and were greeted with cool towels and delicious drinks! The staff was so attentive from the moment we arrived and got us all checked in and our bags taken care of.
You can arrange all your taxis through the hotel which was very easy. I also use Viator to book as well if the rates are lower.
We got a free upgrade from a standard room to a Junior King Suite with an ocean view. Yes I did email them before our arrival. Check out my template of how I earn free upgrades during many of our hotel stays HERE.

The balcony had a day bed and table so we enjoyed many sunny mornings out there while listening to the soft violinist or pianist who played every morning. We had a Nespresso machine in our room or there was a coffee shop down off the elevator. I loved the iced mochas! Real espresso and delicious! We had a mini bar filled with sodas and beer and they refill them daily.
FOOD

There was tons of food options. They have everything from a formal sit down to casual dining and room service. The food was very good compared to some all inclusives we have been to.
Yes, some don’t have good food. They had French, Italian, Japanese, Sports bars, Grill stand, Wood oven pizza, Jamaican eats, and the buffet with international options. There is something for everyone!
ACTIVITIES
This resort was combined with the Ziva which is the family friendly resort. We only went over to the other side to eat but primarily stayed at the adult only pool area. They had different activities on the beach or at the pool. There is also a separate area for preferred rooms which ours was part of that category so we had an exclusive beach and pool spot.

The pool space was large on both sides of the resort and had swim up bars. They had pool activities through the day if you wanted to join in with the trivia or karaoke. I enjoy a good book and the sun so I found a spot a little farther away from the noise.

There is entertainment on both sides of the resort each even so you can check the app to see what the nightly entertainment is. We loved the youth steel drum band! They had such high energy and did great songs!
This trip in particular we were both exhausted from the season of life we were in so we decided to relax and read.
We had some ideas for excursions we were interested in and you can check out all my Jamaica excursions HERE. We will definitely be back so maybe next time we will be ready to adventure.
We also wanted to book a photo shoot with Flytographer. The resort did have a photographer on the resort but I like how I can see the portfolio of the photographers when I am looking through Flytographers website. It’s super easy to use but there wasn’t any availability so maybe next time we can capture the beautiful sunset. If you want to try Flytographer for a family or couples photoshoot on vacation use my link HERE and get $25 off your first photo shoot! I think photos are the best souvenirs!

How Much did All This Cost??
We loved it and would go back! Thankful points and miles made. this trip possible.
Our whole trip cost was $378 out of pocket for 5 days and 4 nights in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Our stay at Hyatt Zilara would have cost us $3,328 but instead was 112,000 points which was easy to earn.
Our flights would have cost us $1,576 but instead was $300 total for 2 people round trip. We simply put our normal expenses on cards to earn these bonuses.
