How to Earn Extra Hyatt Points

It’s no secret that World of Hyatt is my favorite hotel brand! The ease of transferring my Chase Ultimate Rewards points (Favorite Bank Points) to the World of Hyatt is simple and easy to do. I can book hotels as low as 3,500 points a night and I enjoy all their perks and ways they make me feel special on my stays. They truly go above and beyond.

I don’t usually chase after smaller point offers, but this one is easy enough to do, and I can always use extra World of Hyatt points, so I thought it was worth my efforts.

Step 1: Hold the World of Hyatt Personal Credit Card

To earn the extra points, you do need to hold the World of Hyatt personal credit card. Now my husband and I both have this card, and here is why you might want to consider it in the future if you don’t already have it in your wallet.

  • Every card anniversary you get award a FREE night certificate for Category 1-4
  • Low annual fee $95
  • Use this card on file for your World of Hyatt stays to earn 4x

The biggest drawback of this card is that the welcome offers are never very good. Just being honest here!

Step 2: Set Up Recurring Payments

The next step to grab this 5,000 points is to set up 3 recurring payments with 3 different service providers for 3 months. Now you can’t just do any recurring bills they do need to fit into one of these four categories.

  • Fitness clubs & Gym Memberships
  • Internet, Cable, & Phone Services
  • Local Transit & Commuting
  • Utilities

TIP: To make sure those bills code correctly, I went to my current credit card transactions list. You can find this information in your bank app, and find your current credit card transactions. Look at what categories your bills are coded as. It was pretty easy for me to find 3 bills that code as utilities, so that is what I did.

Step 3: Time sensitive

You need these 3 bills on your card for 3 consecutive months. There is a time deadline. Your three months need to be completed by November 30, 2025.

Additional Tips:

  • Use your lower-cost bills so that you can still work on a welcome bonus on the side
  • Double your Hyatt points if you and your player 2 have the World of Hyatt personal card
